Meet the Facilitator

         
Debbie Grieve
Debbie is a Post-16 (high school and adult education) teacher originally from the UK and is currently the Co-Director of the ASB Online Academy as well as lead instructor for the adult learning strand. She taught both Technology and Literacy within the Further Education and Community Learning Sector in the UK for seven years prior to moving to India four years ago. Whilst in India, Debbie worked with local NGOs teaching English as well as working with ASB to promote Digital Literacy within the Parent Community by offering Parent Technology courses on a variety of topics.
 
 
In December 2010, Debbie moved to the US with her family and using the very technology tools that the ASB Online Academy teaches, she is able to continue to work with ASB on a remote basis. Debbie has a fascination for emerging technology and gadgets and believes that all adults can learn to use a range of technology to enhance their lives both personally, professionally and where relevant, to help support their children manage their online lives both safely and responsibly. She has presented at conferences both in the United States and Europe.
 
Kevin Crouch
Kevin is currently the ES Technology Coordinator at the the American School of Bombay in Mumbai, India. With eight years of experience in education, Kevin has taught middle school and high school science, technology, and IB ITGS and has been both a high school and elementary school teacher leader. Kevin has led teachers at two different international schools through the pedagogical shifts and skills growth necessary to be successful teachers in a 1:1 laptop/tablet program. He has spoken at numerous conferences and has led teacher training workshops and institutes at several different schools. He has a wealth of technology integration experience at all grade levels.
 
     
Jason Roy
Jason is currently the MS/HS Technology Coordinator at the American School of Bombay in Mumbai, India. This is Jason’s 14th year in education. Before becoming a technology coordinator he taught all levels of IB mathematics, as well as middle school mathematics, high school physics and computer science. As a technology coordinator, Jason helps teachers of all disciplines transform their lessons with the integration of formative assessment and technology. Jason has presented on formative assessment with technology both in the United States and overseas.
 
     
Abhishek Singh
Abhishek believes that technology is a tool to explore endless possibilities, create effective learning outcomes and customize instruction to enhance student learning. With technology he hopes to give his students the means to collect, synthesize, summarize and collaborate the information given to them in a meaningful way, which will in turn enhance their learning. Prior to coming to American School of Bombay (ASB) in Mumbai, he was in the corporate world working as the Assistant Systems Manager (Software Design) and also a Corporate Trainer. In September 2005, Abhishek moved to India after spending almost 4 years in Australia and has been working at ASB since 2006. He has completed a Masters in Information Technology from Queensland University of Technology in Australia and is looking forward to his next Master’s in Education (Curriculum and Teaching) course ending this summer from Boston University. He teaches media, technology, programming, and IB Computer Science at the school and has also presented numerous technology workshops over the years related to technology-use in the classroom.
 
     
Misa Derhy
Misa Derhy is a yoga teacher now residing in Dublin following 4 years in India. She came across yoga for first time when she was 10 years old in former Czechoslovakia where she was born but she really started with her deeper studies of yoga in India in 2007. She and her family have lived in 10 different countries during the last 20 years.

In India she studied for 4 years with Prasad Rangnekar, teacher of teachers, and continues to learn from his teaching. She also studied at the Yoga Institute in Mumbai, Yin Yoga with Paul Grilley and this year she began the study of Classical Yoga with Georg Feuerstein. Misa participates in regular yoga retreats, workshops and yoga conferences around the world. She is a certified Yoga Teacher 200 with Yoga Alliance and she teaches in Anahata Yoga Studio in Dublin and at Lycee Francais d’ Ireland where she teaches parents and teachers. She is also currently developing a corporate yoga program in Societe General in Dublin.
