We offer an ever growing range of online professional learning courses, many of which now come with the option of graduate credits.

 

Course Design and Delivery Standards

The ASB Online Academy uses the iNacol standards to ensure our courses meet the highest standards in online course design and delivery.

  • Course Introduction
    The structure and course expectations are made clear in the beginning. Using both text and video, learners are shown how to get started, how to access course activities, and the netiquette expectations for online discussions and other communications.

  • Objectives
    The course learning objectives are clearly stated and explained, and learners know how these objectives are to be met.

  • Assessments
    All course assessments are aligned with the activities and resources. They are varied and appropriate to the content being learned and evaluated. Learners have opportunities to self‐assess or practice with regular and timely feedback from the instructors.

  • Teaching Materials
    All course materials are current and appropriately selected to meet the learning needs of adults. They have a relevant level of breadth and depth with appropriate reading level. The courses take advantage of digital media to engage learners.

  • Interactions
    The courses support meaningful online interactions between the learners and the instructors, and amongst the learners. Interactions between the learners and the course materials are designed to motivate learners and foster personal development.

  • Learning Management System
    The courses are delivered using Haiku, a Learning Management System (LMS), that ensures easy navigation and accessto the course content and resources.

  • Tech Support
    The courses provide instructions on how learners can seek assistance and answer any basic questions about technology use.

  • Aligned with Digital Fluency Standards
    The courses are aligned with the Digital Fluency Continuum created by the American School of Bombay. The Continuum highlights the development of digital fluency in adults over four phases.

Some professional development courses may require more advanced skills with a set of tools to ensure successful completion of the activities and assignments. If a course indicates any Supplemental Courses, please take a readiness check before registering for the specific course. This is a recommendation only to help us match you up with the best course for your current skill set. You may still register for any course you like. However, you may find much of the learning inaccessible without the necessary skills.

Note about Tech courses

These courses are open to everyone no matter what your skill level. Some courses may require some basic technology skills to get the most out of the course. Our technology courses have no academic pre-requisites. However if you are unsure of your technology skill level and the course most appropriate for you, then please do not hesitate to contact us and we can help you select the right course(s).

Course Credits

You can earn Graduate Credits from SUNY for all Courses.

For most courses all you will need is

  • A desktop or laptop computer
  • An Internet connection (1 MBPS recommended)
  • A valid email account
  • A video and microphone (optional for some activities)

Course Fees

  • Four week course - INR 15000
  • Six week course - INR 20000
